Longevity
4 Growth Hormone Releaser is designed to help your body
release more of its own, endogenous, growth hormone (GH).
Longevity
4
Capsules are classified as a releaser or a secretagogue, an agent that causes or
stimulates secretion. In our case specifically, Longevity 4
Capsules stimulate the secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the anterior
pituitary gland.
Our belief is that our bodies
will be stronger and healthier when we maintain or restore the amount of
endogenous growth hormone secretion to levels found when we are young.
Each
bottle contains 90 capsules and at the recommended dosage of three
capsules per day is intended to be a one month supply. Of course,
dosage will depend in a large degree on an individual basis.
FAQs
What is
growth hormone (GH)?
Growth hormone is one of the
largest and most complex molecules found in our bodies. It is
comprised of 191 amino acids linked in a specific sequence, and
is secreted in pulses from the anterior pituitary gland.
It is also referred to as somatotropin.
What function does GH serve in the
body?
As the name implies growth hormone
promotes growth of the body. It helps to stimulate bone growth
and influences the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and
lipids. [As a side note: plants also have a growth promoting
substance, called auxins.]
How do levels of growth hormone vary
through our life span?
Growth hormone levels peak during
the neonatal period and during puberty. After the age of 30 the
naturally occurring levels begin to diminish. Some reports
suggest that these levels diminish by as much as 14% each decade
after the age 30.
How do levels of growth hormone vary
throughout the day?
The amount of GH found in the blood
stream varies throughout the day. As mentioned above growth
hormone is secreted in pulses throughout the day. The number of
pulses can range from nine to 30 during any 24-hour period. The
strength of these pulses can be affected by exercise as well as
other variables. The highest peak of growth hormone release
during a 24-hour period is during stage IV sleep.
Growth hormone levels in the body
increase during exercise, extreme stress and injury. A high-fat
diet has been found to reduce GH production.
What is somatostatin?
Somatostatin is a
hormone produced chiefly by the hypothalamus that inhibits the
secretion of growth hormone, along with various other hormones
such as glucagon, insulin, thyrotropin, and gastrin.
Studies have shown that an old pituitary
gland has the same capacity to produce GH as a young one does.
What changes as we age is increased levels of somatostatin.
Thus, while our pituitary continues to produce growth hormone,
the increased levels of somatostatin in the body effectively
diminish the levels of growth hormone released from the
pituitary gland.
What is
Longevity 4 made of?
As the name
implies there are
four amino acids in our product; L-glutamine, glycine, L-arginine, and
L-ornithine. Each of these amino acids
has been found to increase the amount of GH released into
the bloodstream. There is also pepsin,
which serves as a digestive aid.
How does
Longevity 4 work?
Longevity 4 is
designed to release growth hormone from the anterior
pituitary gland in part by blocking or diminishing the effect of
somatostatin, and in part by stimulating the production of
growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH). Like somatostatin, GHRH
is produced by the hypothalamus.
What is insulin-like
growth factor 1 (IGF-1)?
IGF-1 is
produced chiefly in the liver in response to growth hormone
production. Because GH remains in the blood stream for a only
very brief time, IGF-1 levels are often the preferred method of
determining GH levels.
Are there
other factors to help increase GH levels?
Yes. Heavy
weight training and cardiovascular exercise can produce
increases in GH release. Diet, of course, can play a direct role
in GH release. High fat diets may in fact reduce the level of GH
release. And of course getting quality sleep is important. As
mentioned above the largest pulse of GH release happens during
stage IV sleep, delta wave sleep, approximately 90 minutes after
falling asleep.

Administration. This product is not intended to treat, cure or
prevent any disease.
Note: The
Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has recently taken a strong
interest in human growth hormone (hGH) releasers. Specifically,
they warn that any health benefits reported from the use of
injectable recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) do not imply
that those same benefits can be derived from a secretagogue. We
feel that this is a reasonable position. We should not cite
experimental results from studies using injectable growth hormone
as evidence of the effectiveness of our product.
